Maintainable performance
Conventional waterproofs can struggle to maintain breathability in very cold conditions or in high humidity. Páramo will continue to perform because it not only directs moisture vapour but also expels condensed liquid water.
Minimal water retention
Páramo will recover from total or partial immersion by pumping liquid water and air around your body.
Warmth
Being warm as well as waterproof, means you can leave behind some of your insulating layers. Adjustable ventilation provides comfort in warm as well as cool conditions.
Silence
The rustle and crunch of coated or membrane fabrics are a thing of the past with Páramo. Nikwax Analogy garments are made using tough, silent and flexible fabrics. This allows easy and efficient packing, as 'stuffing' does not harm the products.
Immunity to puncture
Puncture of the outer or inner fabric will not lead to leakage. You could fill the garment with pins, take them out, wear the garment in the rain, and still remain dry.
Renewability
The performance of these garments can be indefinitely renewed by caring for them with Nikwax products. (Conventional waterproofs i.e. membranes can eventually de-laminate and crack or taped seams loosen making repair uneconomical).
Windproofing
Páramo garments offer genuine windproofing in outer fabrics - not just resistance, i.e. no chilling of the fabric through the insulation.

GORE-TEX XCR ( Extended Comfort Range)
gives the best all-round combination of wind and water protection, breathability, durability and light weight. In its 3-layer form Gore-tex XCR is up to 40% more breathable than the standard Classic fabric.
GORE-TEX PACLITE
is designed to be forgotten. It packs small and is incredibly lightweight, so you don't notice you’re wearing or carrying it. It’s waterproof and windproof so you don't have to think about the weather, plus it’s extremely breathable.
Original GORE-TEX
2-layer and 3-layer fabrics are the most tested - and most trusted - weather protection you can wear . Two-layer is lighter weight and softer - ideal for use in trekking and trail applications. Three-layer is a heavier-duty alternative - ideal for more demanding pursuits or climatic conditions, such as serious backpacking, climbing, and mountaineering.
GORE-TEX Soft Shell
garments provide soft, comfortable, warm performance with the Guaranteed To Keep You Dry promise. Durably waterproof, the fabric is wind resistant yet very breathable with a stretch component and a soft liner.

Most common waterproof/breathable technologies do not literally "breathe". Instead they move sweat in two slow steps by a process of diffusion through a Polyurethane (PU) layer. First sweat is condensed and absorbed into the PU layer on the inside of the fabric. Because PU absorbs and retains sweat, the inside of the fabric becomes wet. Then, body heat begins to push that dampness through to the outside of the fabric where it can finally evaporate - a very inefficient process.
